Turkmen civil servants attended a seminar on WTO agreements

Within the framework of the program "Turkmenistan: Increasing Stability and Trade Integration", Turkmen civil servants attended a seminar on "Technical Barriers to Trade" and "Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures" last week. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."

The program aims to prepare representatives of the country's public service for accession to the WTO. During the seminar, the trainees analyzed national legislation and international standards, which, according to the experts' recommendations, should be harmonized.

In accordance with the requirements of the WTO, the State Committee "Turkmenstandartlary" has prepared draft laws "On Technical Regulation" and "On Standardization". It was noted that for accession to the WTO it is necessary to simplify trade procedures.
