Azerbaijan Embassy in Ashgabat hosts event on Heydar Aliyev's 100th anniversary

Today, May 10, 2023, an event dedicated to the centenary of outstanding statesman Heydar Aliyev is being held at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkmenistan.

Heydar Aliyev is considered as the national leader of the Republic of Azerbaijan, under whom the life of the Republic underwent changes on a global scale. Heydar Aliyev's appointment as First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan marked a new stage in the development of the Republic, laying the foundation for further economic, social and cultural development of the country. 

Under Heydar Aliyev's rule, structural reforms were carried out in the economy, new branches were created in the country's industry, more than three hundred industrial enterprises were built in the period from 1969 to 1982, and export of products to 65 countries of the world was organized. In 1978, the Azerbaijani language was granted the status of the state language. 

Heydar Aliyev's activity as the first chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers was large-scale, where he successfully controlled 12 ministries. With the collapse of the Union, Aliyev returned to Azerbaijan and led the historical processes going on in the country. He managed to stop the threat of civil war and restore the atmosphere of national unity in the country.
