Auditorium in honor of Turkmen poet opened in Tbilisi university

On September 11, a solemn ceremony of opening of Makhtumkuli Fraghi Auditorium was held at Sukhumi State University in Tbilisi in honor of its 300th anniversary. This is reported by the online edition "Orient."

The event was organized jointly by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia and the management of the university. The ceremony was attended by the Turkmen delegation headed by Ambassador D. Seyitmammedov, the faculty of the university and students.

During his speech, the Ambassador emphasized the growing role of cultural and humanitarian ties in the Turkmen-Georgian relations. The Turkmen delegation noted that the work of Makhtumkuli Fraghi calls for humanism and cohesion.

Rector of the university Zurab Khornelidze expressed confidence that the opening of Makhtumkuli Fraghi Auditorium will contribute to popularization of his works and strengthening of cultural ties.
