In Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan, a solemn ceremony of opening of a new hydro-technical facility was held. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The capacity of the water regulating structure built at the 1006th km of the Karakum River is 68.2 m³/sec. Thanks to the dam constructed at the 1002nd km of the Karakum River, the western region will receive uninterrupted water supply during the summer season. The new hydrostructure is of great importance in providing water to agricultural lands.
Representatives of velayat and etraps, as well as elders and members of public organizations took part in the opening ceremony of the hydrotechnical facility.
The construction of the structure was carried out by the "Türkmensuwylmytaslama" Institute of the State Committee for Water Management of the country.
