Turkmenistan's diplomats celebrated their professional holiday in Ashgabat. On the occasion of the holiday, the Foreign Ministry's IMO 2022 organized a forum called "Dialogue - Pledge of Peace". The theme and title of the event were determined based on the global initiative announced by Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov as the philosophy of interstate relations of modern times.
The forum was attended by heads and staff of Turkmenistan's foreign policy department, foreign embassies and missions of interstate associations operating in Ashgabat, as well as future diplomats and their mentors, public figures and journalists.
The opening ceremony began with a congratulatory message by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, read out by Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. The President emphasized the role of Turkmenistan's diplomats and their significant contribution to the progress of political, humanitarian and economic cooperation of Turkmenistan in the global arena.
UNDP Permanent Representative to Turkmenistan N. Sahakyan, United States Ambassador S. Klimow, Iranian Ambassador Golamabbas Arbabhales, Chinese Ambassador C. Naichen and many others also addressed the audience.
The leitmotif of all speeches was the idea "Dialogue is a guarantee of peace. At present, Turkmenistan is actively embodying this idea in its foreign policy activities. It combines positive neutrality with sound pragmatism and universal humanistic values, which are close and understandable to everyone.
At the end of the official part of the event, graduates of IMO MFA of Turkmenistan were presented with diplomas, and then there was a concert, organized by students to mark Turkmenistan's Diplomat's Day. Attendees of the performance heard not only national motifs, but also different languages of the world.
On the eve of the professional holiday of Turkmen diplomats a number of sports competitions were traditionally held, in which teams of representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan and diplomats of other states and interstate associations operating in Ashgabat took part. The competitions included tennis, table tennis, volleyball and billiards. Among the winners of the last type of competition were representatives of the American (a variety of Russian pyramid) and Turkish (a variety of Pool) embassies. As for the volleyball tournament, the Turkmen diplomats were the winners. Representatives of UNICEF were the strongest in tennis and representatives of the UN in table tennis. As for IMO Foreign Ministry students, they were focused on the intellectual inter-university brain-ringing contest.
