Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Meets with Japanese Ambassador

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Japanese Ambassador Katsumata Takahiko. The diplomatic mission of the Japanese Ambassador to Turkmenistan has come to an end.

The parties analyzed the current relations between Turkmenistan and Japan. The diplomats praised the development of the Turkmen-Japanese interaction, noting its rich nature. The sides also noted the gradually expanding contacts in the political and diplomatic spheres. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's visit to Japan played an important role in this aspect. This was the starting point of the partnership between the two countries on all issues of mutual interest.

Diplomats noted the positive experience of mutual support for each other's initiatives in regional and international programs and organizations. Including in the UN. Turkmenistan and Japan have common views on many important global issues.

In their conversation, the sides touched upon expanding further partnership in important segments, from humanitarian and political to economic and energy. They also noted the important role of interparliamentary contacts in the development of political dialogue between the states.

The Turkmen foreign minister thanked the Japanese ambassador for his contribution to strengthening Turkmen-Japanese cooperation, noting that cooperation between the two countries on various issues has recently intensified.

At the end of the talks, Katsumata Takahiko thanked the leadership of Turkmenistan and Rashid Meredov directly for supporting and facilitating his diplomatic activities as ambassador.
