Gorno-Altaisk, July 25 - Arzuw.news. The delegation of Turkmenistan is taking part in the international environmental conference, which is held from July 24 to 26 at the ski resort "Manzherok" in the Altai Republic. This is reported by the publication Turkmenistan: Golden Age.
The forum is attended by government delegations from eight states: Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The meeting of the guests was organized in accordance with the traditions of the indigenous people of Altai and Russian culture.
The conference focused on key issues of nature conservation on the Eurasian continent. The main areas of discussion were the impact of climate change on water resources, the protection of specially protected natural areas, and the development of transboundary reserves and national parks.
Within the framework of the plenary session "Environmental Challenges: Towards Sustainable Development", representatives of the participating countries presented the environmental agenda of their states. The program of the event includes a ministerial session "How to keep the world water balance?" and a thematic meeting on the development of transboundary ecotourism.
Special emphasis is placed on the conservation of biodiversity and protection of the snow leopard population in the mountainous regions of Central Asia, including the territory of Turkmenistan. The conference participants discuss the prospects of experience exchange and realization of joint projects in the field of ecology.
