Goskomstat of Turkmenistan conducted training on tourism expenditure survey

A number of trainings on tourism expenditure survey organized by the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan and UNDP within the framework of the project "Strengthening the institutional, statistical, information and technical capacity of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan" were held in the capital of Turkmenistan and in the National Tourist Zone "Avaza". This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The event was attended by representatives of the tourism industry - hotel employees, travel agents and tour operators. Various types of accounting for tourism expenditures have been developed in accordance with the standards of the World Tourism Organization.

A sample survey of tourism expenditure allows structuring tourism expenditure. In general, the presented methods of expenditure survey help to summarize the contribution of the tourism sector to the production and employment of the country, to assess the impact of tourism on the national economy.
