Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held an online meeting with the heads of UN agencies in the country and regional structures on April 18. This was reported by the Westiabad online edition.
In the course of the meeting, issues related to Turkmenistan's interaction with the UN were discussed, priority areas were outlined and actual proposals were voiced. The Turkmen side expressed its commitment to deepening cooperation with the UN in the areas of strengthening peace, security, implementation of the SDGs, development of sustainable transportation, and combating climate change.
The parties discussed the prospects of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the UN structural units in the areas of sustainable development, transportation, climate change and environmental protection. In the context of humanitarian cooperation, attention was paid to the preservation of national cultural heritage, application and introduction of best practices in the education and health care system.
