Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended the opening ceremony of the cultural and park complex of Makhtumkuli Fraghi and a monument to the poet, as well as an alley with monuments to outstanding poets and writers of the world. This was reported by the TurkmenPortal online edition.
The alley has monuments to famous personalities who have made a huge contribution to world culture, including Sayat Nova, Yanka Kupala, Du Fu, Honoré de Balzac, Shota Rustaveli, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Shandor Petőfi, Rabindranath Tagore, Hafiz Shirazi, Dante Alighieri, Yasunari Kawabata, Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly, Chingiz Aitmatov, Raja Ali Haji, Adam Mickiewicz, Mihai Eminescu, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Juan Jimenez, Sayido Nasafi, Yunus Emre, Grigori Skovoroda, William Shakespeare, Langston Hughes, Alisher Navoi.
Each monument fully reflects the personality and peculiarities of creativity of the famous person to whom it is dedicated. The main attraction of the complex is the 60-meter monument of Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
