The South Korean leader will be accompanied by his wife, First Lady Kim Kong-hee. The high-ranking guest and his wife are expected to arrive in Ashgabat on Monday, June 10. A summit with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is scheduled for the same day. The agenda of the summit will include discussions on deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
According to First Deputy National Security Advisor Kim Dae-hyo, the Central Asian region, which is the cradle of the Silk Road, is now gaining strategic importance in developing economic ties between European and Asian countries.
