A ministerial conference of Afghanistan's neighboring countries will be held in the capital of Turkmenistan in January 2025. Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu informed about the forthcoming conference at the meeting of the Secretaries of the CIS Security Councils held on November 7 in Moscow. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."

Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu emphasized the importance of involving the Afghan authorities in regional interaction and establishing trade and economic cooperation. He also noted the systemic nature of the work being done in this area. Mr. Shoigu emphasized that relations with Afghanistan are regularly discussed within the framework of the SCO.
