The wheat harvesting campaign officially started in two leading grain-producing regions of Turkmenistan on June 11. Dashoguz province plans to harvest 265 thousand tons of grain from 145 thousand hectares, and Balkan province should fulfill the state order of 80 thousand tons from 50 thousand hectares of crops.
The start of reaping is held within the framework of a large-scale program for harvesting food wheat, which this year should amount to 1 million 400 thousand tons from a total area of 690 thousand hectares across the country.
Preparations for the harvesting season were carried out taking into account the blessing of the Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed to the farmers at the May meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. Before the start of field work, production seminars were held with the participation of heads of velayat and etrap khakimliks, agricultural specialists and land tenants.
The opening ceremony of the harvest was held in accordance with national traditions - elders offered prayers for a successful harvest and symbolically cut the first ears with sickles, saying the blessing "Harmanyňyza bereket, çäjiňize bereket!".
Modern high-performance combine harvesters, which are serviced by repair and mechanical teams with a full set of spare parts and fuel and lubricants, have entered the fields. Transportation of harvested grain to receiving points, barns and elevators is carried out by a fleet of trucks.
The quality control of products is entrusted to the laboratories of "Türkmenstandartlary" service, equipped with the latest equipment for operational analysis of grain. All participants of the harvesting works have undergone mandatory briefings on safety and fire safety measures.
Proper working and rest conditions have been organized for the workers of the fields, mobile sales outlets are operating, and performances by artists are planned. The start of the harvesting campaign was accompanied by festive events with an exhibition of achievements of the agro-industrial complex and demonstration of modern agricultural equipment.
