The Oguz Khan Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan hosted a large-scale international scientific-practical conference dedicated to Science Day. The event brought together representatives of the scientific community from 18 countries to discuss issues of innovation and sustainable development.
The hybrid format of the conference brought together professors, lecturers and researchers from Hungary, Japan, Malaysia, India, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Brazil, Pakistan, Germany, France, Ukraine, Austria, Georgia, Afghanistan and Kazakhstan.
The central theme of the plenary session was the role of science and education in the comprehensive development of the state. The participants noted the importance of creating favorable conditions for scientific activity and expanding international partnership in this area.
Special attention was paid to the modernization of scientific and educational infrastructure of Turkmenistan. The speakers emphasized the systemic nature of construction of modern scientific and educational facilities, as well as the strengthening of the material and technical base using advanced technological solutions.
Foreign experts presented current areas of research: creation of medicines based on plant raw materials, biotechnological developments for sustainable development and improvement of the higher education system. Malaysian achievements in the field of intelligent network communications and experience in the application of solar technologies in agriculture in arid regions aroused great interest of the participants.
The Japanese delegation put forward specific proposals to deepen bilateral cooperation in the scientific and educational field. Renewable energy, increasing exports of liquefied natural gas and introduction of water-saving technologies were named among the priority areas. Prospects for the development of production of semiconductors and electronic components in Turkmenistan were also discussed.
The conference participants unanimously recognized innovation as a key factor of long-term economic growth, increasing competitiveness in international markets and improving the quality of life of the population.
The work of the forum continued in three thematic sections covering the issues of science as a basis for development and peace, the role of national and cultural traditions in international cooperation, and innovative technologies as a tool for sustainable development.
In parallel with scientific discussions, a demonstration of advanced technological developments was organized and the winners of the national competition of innovative projects among young scientists were solemnly awarded.
