A series of cultural events to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fraghi will be held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris from April 22 to 26. This is reported by Asmannews online edition.
The exhibition "Makhtumkuli Fraghi and the Cultural Heritage of Turkmenistan" organized by the Turkmenistan's Permanent Mission to UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture, the Academy of Sciences and the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan will be open from 22 to 26 April.
The exhibition will display Makhtumkuli's manuscripts, arts and crafts and jewelry, Turkmen carpets, musical instruments, samples of traditional Turkmen clothing.
The Gala Concert of the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan will be held on April 24. The audience will be able to hear the works of Turkmen classics and see the traditional Kushtdepdi dance.
