Christmas services were held in Orthodox churches in Turkmenistan

All Orthodox churches in Turkmenistan held festive services on the night of January 7. Christmas services began in Ashgabat and other cities of the country at 4 p.m. on January 6, 2025. This is reported by the online edition SNG.Today.

There are currently 12 Orthodox churches in the country. On Christmas Eve, thousands of Orthodox Christians gathered in them to celebrate one of the main Orthodox holidays. Believers came to the Temples to thank God, pray and experience the bright joy of Christmas.

The ancient traditions of Christianity are honored in Turkmenistan in accordance with the law "On Freedom of Religion". As many centuries ago, various confessions coexist in peace and harmony in modern Turkmenistan.
