Blood donation actions were held in Turkmenistan on Donor's Day

In honor of the World Blood Donor Day, blood donation actions were held in Turkmenistan. This is reported by the Internet edition "TurkmenPortal".

As Gulnar Akhmedova, Deputy Director of the Blood Center of the Infectious Diseases Centers Directorate, noted, donor blood and its fractions make it possible to save millions of people's lives every year. In this regard, G. Akhmedova emphasized that World Blood Donor Day is an opportunity to express gratitude to millions of donors doing such a good deed.

Turkmenistan has been celebrating this holiday since 2005 after the adoption of a resolution declaring World Blood Donor Day. The Blood Center of Turkmenistan performs blood collection using the latest equipment. Before the blood reaches the recipient, it goes through mandatory analysis and testing for various infections. An individual disposable blood collection kit is used for each donor, so the risk of infecting a person is also completely eliminated.
