UNDP training on natural disasters held in Turkmenistan

During the two-day training held in Turkmenistan, issues of recovery planning and post-disaster needs assessment were discussed. The event was initiated by the United Nations Development Program. The training was organized with the participation of the Interagency Group on Disaster Risk Reduction. The event was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The purpose of the trainings was to increase national capacity in post-disaster needs assessment. Such activities are aimed at risk communication in line with the SDGs and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.

The speakers of the training were Stanislav Kim, Technical Advisor on Climate and Disaster Resilience at the UNDP Regional Center in Istanbul, and international experts Ekaterina Melnichenko, Armen Chilingarian and Žarko Petrović.
