Turkmenistan will host a human rights training course

Turkmenistan is hosting a two-day online training on "Best Practices in Human Rights Education in Journalism. Cooperation of journalists with the Ombudsman's Office on covering human rights issues in the media". This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The speaker of the training is international human rights expert Stephanie Lemke.
The workshop is organized by UNDP in cooperation with the Office of the Human Rights Ombudsman in Turkmenistan.

Among the issues to be raised at the seminar are measures to protect media freedom and the right to freedom of expression in the context of various country experiences. Human rights standards will be presented, in particular the Paris Principles, which were defined in 1991 in Paris at the first International Seminar on National Institutions for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights.
