From May 15 to June 9, USAID, together with the WHO Country Office and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, conducted a series of training sessions for Turkmenistan's TB doctors and SES specialists from the country's Ministry of Health and Medical Industry. This is reported in the USAID Central Asia press release.
The training was conducted as part of a project to improve prevention and treatment of drug-resistant TB in CA.
During the trainings, participants considered possible risks of disease spread and measures needed for TB infection control. The trainings were held in all five velayats of the country.
This training contributes to the implementation of the National TB Control Guidelines and aligns with USAID and WHO global strategies.
