Turkmenistan hosted a meeting to develop a green building standard

Within the framework of the joint project of UNDP and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection "Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Integrated Development of Green Cities in Ashgabat and Avaza", a working meeting on the development of "green" construction in the country was held in Turkmenistan. This is reported in the online publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

During the meeting the first draft of the "green" construction standard for the construction of buildings of hotels and hotel complexes was discussed. The very concept of "green" construction implies the use of environmentally friendly construction and finishing materials, energy efficiency of the building throughout its operation, energy supply from renewable sources and greenhouse gases, rational water use, landscaping, reuse of liquid and organic waste, safety and comfort of buildings.

The green building project is implemented by Turkmenistan within the framework of the Paris Climate Agreement.
