Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Foreign Office for Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, Minister Leo Doherty met on July 5. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of trade and economic, political and diplomatic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the countries. The diplomats expressed readiness on behalf of the states to strengthen and expand relations in the spheres of energy, agriculture and water management, in the fight against global climate change.
The representatives of the countries agreed to intensify inter-parliamentary cooperation. As a result of the talks, a Protocol of Intentions was signed between Turkmenistan and Great Britain.
