The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held talks with his Chinese counterpart

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Chengdu, China, on November 30. It is reported by Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

The diplomats discussed the current relations between the countries, noting the fruitful nature of cooperation between China and Turkmenistan, which is based on the principles of mutual benefit. The sides emphasized that the effectiveness of the partnership is achieved through regular meetings at various levels. They also emphasized the effective work of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee.

The Ministers touched upon the issues of interaction between the countries within the framework of regional and international structures. The effectiveness of the "Central Asia-China" format was noted, the second Summit of Heads of State of which will be held in Astana in 2025.

The meeting ended with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries for 2025-2026.
