The National Leader of the Turkmen people held a conversation with the Chairman of the Russian Federation Council of Federation

On April 8, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko had a telephone conversation. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty congratulated Valentina Matvienko on her jubilee and conferment of the title of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation. During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of deepening friendly ties between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Russia.

Special attention was paid to cooperation in the fields of energy, trade, transportation and agriculture. In addition, the sides emphasized the need to expand cultural, humanitarian and inter-parliamentary partnership. The effectiveness of establishing direct ties between Turkmenistan and certain regions of Russia was noted.
