Oraza Bayram - the day of completion of strict fasting is included in the calendar of festive dates celebrated in Turkmenistan at the state level. For the whole Islamic world, the holy month of the Muslim calendar Orazah (Ramadan) is a special time when the scale of concentration of good deeds reaches its height. The sacred character of the month is connected with the fact that on the night of 27 Ramadan, three days before the end of the strict fast, the first sura of the Koran was sent down to Prophet Muhammad.
The culmination of the month is the Night of Ghadir Gijesi, or as it is also called the Night of Omnipotence, Predestination, Forgiveness, Unity. According to the legend of Islamic theologians, the Prophet Muhammad spent the last 10 days of Ramadan in tireless prayers. And it was on this night that he received the heavenly original of the holy scripture, the Quran.
During the Prophet's prayer near Mecca, the archangel Jibrail, who descended from heaven directly from God's throne, conveyed to him the first five ayats of Surah Al-Alaq, which tells him that God (Allah) is great and all-powerful and is the Creator of all things.
Since then, Muslims have believed that on this magical Night, a host of God's messengers descend to earth to hear the prayers of righteous people and convey their requests to the Almighty. The Night of Power and Predestination is a sign of the imminent end of the strict fasting of the holy month of Ramadan, during which from sunrise to sunset Muslims renounce food, drink, entertainment, tobacco smoking, and sensual pleasures, spending time in prayer. The purpose of fasting is to promote the awakening of a Muslim's spiritual and physical self-restraint.
Thus, on the holy Night of Power and Forgiveness - Gadyr Gidjesi, the President of Turkmenistan, accomplishing a good deed, annually signs a decree on pardoning convicted, wronged but repentant people. This year, 356 people returned to righteous life, and in the family circle will offer prayers to the Almighty for forgiveness and gratitude. We would like to believe that Muslims all over the world, living in different corners of the world, after the Night of Predestination will tune their soul's tuning for mercy, love and understanding, breathe fresh air of renewal and find a great divine gift - to create good on earth.
On the night of Gadir Gijesi, which is celebrated on one of the odd nights of the last decade of the month of Oraz and this year fell from April 5 to 6. According to tradition, prayers offered on this wonderful Night will be heard by angels and the Almighty. Every Muslim is given a unique opportunity to compensate for all the unread namazes for the year, as there is a belief that one namaz performed on the Night of Ghadir Gijesi is equal to prayers for 1000 months ahead. People also read the Quran at this time, some by heart, some with a book in their hands, some aloud, some to themselves, because it was the surahs of the Quran that were sent down to Prophet Muhammad on that night of revelation.
Like any sacred activity, the Night of Power and Predestination has not a few prohibitions and approvals for Muslims. All of them carry an educational message. Thus, one should not quarrel, gossip, be offended, say evil words, envy, and on the contrary - it is necessary to cleanse one's soul from anger and resentment, and fill one's thoughts with good thoughts, to give a festive share to those in need of help, as well as to relatives, friends and neighbors. And in general during the whole month of Oraz the believers try to adhere to these positive covenants, because only then in the night of the general vigil, the angels sent to the earth will enter every house, give attention to each praying person, hear his request and pass it to the Almighty.
Oraza Bayram is perhaps the brightest holiday, when having tested himself during the fast by self-denial of all necessary needs and habits of life, the believer suddenly realizes the meaning of his existence. This is the time when a person really evaluates his deeds, thoughts and desires. Oraza Bayram is a chance, when one can repent and realize his sins to get on the right path of life and walk on it with a clean soul, with faith, hope and love in the bright present and future. After all, if you smile and do good, you will be rewarded a hundredfold not only by your neighbor, but also by the Almighty.
