A new consul of Turkmenistan has been appointed in the Republic of Kazakhstan

The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed Turkmenistan's Consul Meretdurdy Abdyllaev in the Republic of Kazakhstan. This is reported by the state news agency "Turkmenistan Today".

The Consulate of Turkmenistan was opened in Aktau city of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2013 in order to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries and ensure high quality of consular services to the population. The issues of bringing energy resources to the foreign market contribute to strengthening Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation.

The city of Aktau is located in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan, bordering the territory of the Balkan province of Turkmenistan. A large Turkmen diaspora permanently resides in Mangistau Oblast.
