Last May 10, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to Turkmenistan Apirat Sugondhabhirom was accredited. This is reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen side was represented at the meeting by the Chairperson of the country's Mejlis D. Gulmanova. The diplomat accepted credentials and on behalf of Turkmen leader Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment, expressing confidence in the development of fruitful bilateral relations.
During the talk, Apirad Sugondhabhirom was introduced to the peculiarities of Turkmenistan's domestic and foreign political program, basic principles and initiatives aimed at maintaining stable peace and progress.
Special attention at the meeting was paid to the development of inter-parliamentary ties, exchange of experience in lawmaking, as well as cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
