The representative of Botswana to the UN and Chairman of the group of landlocked developing countries Collen Vixen Kelapile assessed the Ministerial Conference on Transport held in Ashgabat. The delegate stressed the timeliness of this large-scale event, noted the importance of exchange of views and experiences between developing states and transit neighboring countries.
Collen Vixen Kelapile arrived at the conference to speak about important aspects of the transportation forum to his colleagues at UNO, as well as to share what he learned with developing country ambassadors who came to New York.
The politician expressed his conviction that the modernization of the Turkmenbashi port will be a major factor contributing to sustainable economic development. He noted that this experience is very valuable, and developing countries can and should adopt it.
