President of Turkmenistan discusses future cooperation with new EU ambassador

Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the new European Union Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Beate Peksa, in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat. The meeting was marked by a friendly atmosphere and was a real step towards strengthening diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the EU. This was reported by the news program Watan.

Ms. Peksa conveyed personal greetings from EU leaders, President Charles Michel and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, to President Berdymukhamedov, congratulating him on Turkmenistan's Independence Day. She also emphasized the importance of strengthening diplomatic ties between Turkmenistan and the EU in light of the history of friendly relations that have existed for three decades.

President Berdimuhamedov, in turn, expressed readiness for further cooperation and strengthening of relations between Turkmenistan and the European Union. He emphasized the importance of interaction in various areas such as transport, energy and green technologies, which was discussed at the recent meeting with EU President Michel in New York.

It is noted that cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union is carried out not only on a bilateral basis, but also in the Central Asia-EU format, in law enforcement and within the framework of parliamentary dialog. The EU has also implemented technical projects in Turkmenistan in the fields of science, education, ecology, legislation and energy, contributing to joint development.

Ms. Peksa assured President Berdimuhamedov that she will make every effort to further strengthen ties between Turkmenistan and the European Union by promoting joint initiatives and projects.

Today's meeting demonstrated the desire of both sides to continue cooperation and deepen partnership for the sake of achieving common goals and interests.
