On September 30, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atakhallyev, who is in charge of the agro-industrial complex, and khakims of velayats, at which issues related to the implementation of the National Rural Program, as well as the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the country were discussed, TDH reports.
The heads of the administrations of Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, Mary velayats reported on measures taken to organize the cotton harvest, wheat sowing, fulfillment of the tasks set by the head of state to increase the production of vegetables, melons and other food crops in the country and to provide the population with these products, on the ongoing preparation for winter of heating systems of buildings and facilities of education and culture, public facilities and residential houses, as well as on the progress of construction of various facilities.
During the meeting, Mr. Atakhallyev noted that in accordance with the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan on further strengthening of food abundance in the regions, in the velayats works on winter food crops care and harvesting of the grown crop are being carried out. In Dashoguz and Lebap velayats preparatory activities for rice harvesting are being carried out, and in Mary velayat - care of sugar beet.
Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the need to carry out current agricultural activities in accordance with the norms of agricultural techniques and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure control over the work in this direction.
Addressing the participants of the working meeting, the head of state emphasized the importance of harvesting cotton without losses and sowing wheat in due time and gave instructions to keep the progress of certain works under review.
Also, the President of Turkmenistan addressed a number of specific instructions to take care of winter crops in accordance with the norms of agricultural technology, to collect the grown crops at the proper level.
