Meeting of the President of Turkmenistan with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan

Avaza, August 6 - Arzuw.news. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with President of Tajikistan Emmomali Rahmon in the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which is held in the National Tourist Zone "Avaza". This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The head of Turkmenistan thanked his Tajik counterpart for participation in the international forum and emphasized the importance of developing friendly relations between the two countries. In turn, President Rahmon expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and noted that the conference would help identify priorities for mutually beneficial cooperation between landlocked developing countries.

During the talks, the sides exchanged views on the key areas of Turkmen-Tajik cooperation and highly assessed the achieved level of interaction in various sectors. Particular attention was paid to the importance of implementing the previously reached agreements to strengthen cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The Presidents noted that centuries-old friendship of the peoples and preservation of spiritual, cultural and historical values serve as a foundation for long-term cooperation on the principles of equality, trust and mutual benefit.

Following the meeting, the leaders reaffirmed their readiness to deepen interstate relations and wished the peoples of both countries peace, stability and prosperity.
