Serdar Berdimuhamedov pardons convicts in honor of Independence Day

On the eve of the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on pardoning convicts, demonstrating commitment to the national traditions of mercy and humanism. About it reported State news agency of Turkmenistan.

This step, aimed at strengthening the unity of the Turkmen society, provides for the release of a number of prisoners from further serving their prison sentences. In addition, the decree abolishes additional punishment in the form of mandatory residence in a certain area for some convicts.

President Berdimuhamedov, signing the document titled "On pardoning convicts on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence", emphasized the importance of preserving family ties and social harmony in the country.

Experts note that such acts of pardon not only contribute to the social reintegration of former prisoners, but also serve as a symbolic gesture of national unity on an important date for the country.
