Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan inter-ministerial consultations held

Political inter-ministerial consultations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were held today in Tashkent. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen delegation was headed by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, while the Uzbek delegation was headed by Foreign Minister B. Saidov. It was emphasized that contacts and mutual visits at the highest level are of particular importance in bilateral relations.

In the context of the intensification of inter-parliamentary dialog, the sides noted the effectiveness of diplomacy. The positive experience of interaction within international structures was emphasized, in particular with a view to maintaining stability and security, as well as economic growth in the region and in the world.

The potential for the development of trade and economic ties was noted. In this regard, the importance of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation was stated.
