Today, March 30, 2021, in the Russian Federation Government House the negotiations between the co-chairmen of the Turkmen-Russian Economic Intergovernmental Commission - Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet and Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov and Deputy Prime Minister of Russia A.Overchuk took place. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan S.Berdymukhamedov, heads of Turkmen and Russian ministries and departments took part in the talks.
The participants of the negotiations considered a number of topical issues of bilateral economic partnership. Cooperation in trade, energy, transport, industrial, financial and investment sectors was discussed. The draft Program of Economic Cooperation between the Governments of Turkmenistan and Russia for 2021-2023 was reviewed.
The parties mutually emphasized the friendly nature of bilateral political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation. Possibilities of intensifying partnership in health care, education, construction, and agriculture were considered.
The meeting resulted in the signing of a package of documents. In particular, the Agreement between the Governments of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation on promotion of inter-regional cooperation was concluded. The document was signed by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan S.Berdymukhamedov and the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation A.Overchuk.
