On December 8, 2023, on the eve of the Neutrality Day of Turkmenistan, a Startup Forum was held within the framework of the Startup Ecosystem - 2023 program.
The Startup Ecosystem - 2023 program is conducted by the Union of Economists of Turkmenistan and the USAID Modern Skills Development Project. The goal of the program, now in its fourth year, is to promote youth innovative entrepreneurship and develop the market for business accelerator services in Turkmenistan.
The Startup Forum was held at the Archabil Hotel and gathered more than 100 people from Ashgabat, Dashoguz and Mary, including program participants from all accelerator companies, volunteer mentors and representatives of accelerator companies. Six organizations from among the leading training centers, recruitment agencies and consulting companies of our country acted as accelerator companies.
The purpose of the event was to acquaint and communicate with the program participants from all the accelerator companies participating in the program with each other, as well as with volunteer mentors - graduates of the project "School of Mentors" of the National Public Association "Union of Economists of Turkmenistan", to provide the participants with new knowledge and skills for successful transition to the acceleration stage of the program "Startup Ecosystem". In the future, mentors-mentors - selected and trained within the framework of the "Mentor School" project, experienced specialists from business, public and international organizations - will help young entrepreneurs to create a new business and successfully enter the market with it.
The forum included master classes from local and international experts on such topics as current trends in e-commerce, familiarization with international experience in creating startup ecosystems, and successful presentation of business projects.
At the end of the Forum, its participants noted the importance of the Startup Ecosystem program, as it helps to develop innovative entrepreneurship in the country. The program will continue in 2024 with an acceleration stage and preparation of participants for the final competition of business projects.
