A telephone conversation between Turkmenistan and the USA was held

On April 18, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan V. Hajiyev and Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control, Verification and Compliance of the United States of America Mallory Stewart discussed security issues during a telephone conversation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the process of implementation of the Vienna Document 2011 on confidence- and security-building measures. In particular, the sides emphasized the importance of effectively countering contemporary challenges and threats, as well as the development of measures for arms control and the implementation of international commitments.

There was also a proposal for specialized seminars and trainings.
