A ceremony of presenting credentials to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Madhumit Hazarika Bhagat took place on February 20. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and noted the positive dynamics in the development of bilateral relations. The President emphasized that India is one of the priority partners for Turkmenistan in South Asia.
The countries cooperate fruitfully in the trade and economic sphere, in particular, in the fuel and energy and transportation sectors, agriculture and textile industry. Of particular importance is the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India Transnational Gas Pipeline (TAPI) project.
