On August 24, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov met with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Mukhriddin on preparations for the opening of a secondary school named after Makhtumkuli in Dusti district of Khatlon region of Tajikistan. This is reported by the online edition "AsmanNews.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Makhtumkuli School was held last May with the participation of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon. The new secondary school is designed for 1080 pupils. The construction of the educational institution will testify to the strong ties between the two nations.
In total, up to 25 thousand citizens of Turkmenistan live on the territory of Tajikistan, in particular in Jilikul, Kumsangir, Kubodien, Shaartusklm and Rudak districts of Khatlon and Kolkhozabat provinces.
I wish they would build a school named after our great poet Makhtumkuli.
