Iranian Foreign Ministry discussed strengthening ties with Turkmenistan

Former Iranian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, who is also a candidate for the post of the new Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ali Mojtabi Rozbahani held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.

How reported The diplomats discussed priorities of bilateral cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan during the meeting. Mr. Rozbahani noted Iran's desire to further strengthen ties with Turkmenistan in various fields.

Minister Amirabdollahian, in turn, emphasized the special importance of Turkmenistan in Iran's regional policy. He expressed the readiness of the Government of Iran to expand mutually beneficial partnership on the principles of respect and trust.

Both diplomats agreed that the key task is to implement the agreements reached at the highest level.

Ali Mojtabi Rozbahani's diplomatic career includes serving as Iran's ambassador to the Philippines and Kyrgyzstan. His candidacy for the post of ambassador to Turkmenistan demonstrates the special importance Tehran attaches to relations with Ashgabat.
