The procedure of taking office of Serdar Berdymukhamedov, a people's elected representative, who received the support of more than 72% voters last Saturday, took place today.
The ceremony was held in the hall of the Ruhiyet Palace in Ashgabat. It was attended by members of the Government, leaders and representatives of Turkmen parties, the Council of Elders, the Khalk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh and the Majlis Milli Gengesh. Also among the participants of the event were the heads of diplomatic missions of various countries in Turkmenistan, mass media, honorary foreign guests, members of the observer commission.
In a solemn atmosphere, the elected president received an official certificate from the hands of the chairman of the Electoral Commission G. Myradov. Myradov the corresponding official certificate.
After that, the main state symbols - the flag, the constitution, and the president's standard appeared in the hall. Serdar Berdymukhamedov took the oath, promising to protect the rights and freedoms of the Turkmen people in accordance with the constitution.
