Ashgabat, August 7 - Arzuw.news. Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov met with a delegation of the European Union headed by EU Special Representative for Central Asia Eduards Stiprace. The talks were held on the margins of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the sides considered the prospects for the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The participants of the talks emphasized the importance of regular contacts at the highest and high-level to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
Special attention was paid to the results of the first Central Asia-European Union Summit, which was held in April this year. The parties noted the significance of this event for the development of regional ties.
As part of the discussion of the EU Global Gateway strategy, the participants of the meeting considered opportunities for cooperation in the development of energy and transport corridors, as well as digitalization. The work of the Joint Committee "Turkmenistan-EU", the Interparliamentary Dialogue and other existing cooperation mechanisms was positively assessed.
The representatives of the European delegation expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for hospitality and highly appreciated the organization of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
