Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met today with Ivana Zivkovic, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Deputy Administrator of the United Nations Development Program and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the strategic nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNDP was emphasized. Currently, 27 UNDP projects are being implemented with the support of Turkmenistan, and two more projects in the field of health care have been signed.
Prospects for cooperation in the field of digitalization were mentioned. In addition, the UNDP organization expressed its readiness to assist in the issue of Turkmenistan's accession to the WTO. The Turkmen side invited the Organization to join the practical implementation of the initiatives put forward by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the COP28 conference.
