The country is still among the most active participants of the EAPO.

The delegates of Turkmenistan told about the main steps taken by the country at the national level. For example, the state is vigorously implementing the Program to Improve Intellectual Property of Turkmenistan, approved for 2021-2025. Among the main tasks of the document is to improve the legislation aimed at protecting the objects of copyright works, bringing it into conformity with international legal standards.

In order to implement the Program, an Interdepartmental Commission was formed in the country in charge of protection of the objects of copyright works. Integration of Turkmenistan into the global patent system in the field of industrial property continues. The state has already joined some treaties forming the key international systematizations.

The parties also discussed the prospects for expanding their partnership. Among other things, mutual interest was aroused by practical cooperation in the field of raising the qualifications of national personnel, as well as legal aspects regarding the protection of works of authorship.
