Turkmenistan develops forestry in Dashoguz province

In Dashoguz velayat systematic work on preservation and multiplication of forest resources is carried out. Specialists of local forestry conduct autumn collection of seed material, within the framework of which more than 80 kg of thuja seeds have already been harvested. The planned indicator of the seasonal campaign is 150 kg, in parallel, seeds of saxaul, kandym and fruit crops are being collected. About it informs Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The obtained reproductive material is sent to the farm's nurseries for further cultivation of seedlings. The total area of nursery farms is dozens of hectares, which makes it possible to provide planting material for large-scale landscaping works in the region.

The landscaping strategy is based on local climatic features. When selecting crops, preference is given to species that combine ornamental qualities with resistance to extreme weather conditions and the ability to effectively purify the air. The implemented approach has already enabled a significant increase in the population of coniferous perennials, especially thuja, which makes a significant contribution to improving the ecological situation in the region.
