Turkmenistan participates in the development of scientific and educational cooperation among Caspian littoral states

The delegation of Turkmenistan took an active part in the XXVII General Assembly of Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian littoral states held in Atyrau. The forum brought together representatives of academic circles of five Caspian littoral countries - Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkmenistan - to work out joint approaches to the development of scientific and educational space of the region. Within the framework of the assembly, special attention was paid to the issues of environmental safety of the Caspian Sea and introduction of innovative developments. Policy statements were made by the Deputy Akim of Atyrau region Kairat Nurtayev and other officials who emphasized the importance of consolidation of efforts to address region-wide challenges.

The international status of the event was confirmed by the participation of the representative of the University of Poitiers (France) Julie Ranson, who characterized the assembly as an effective platform for the development of inter-country partnership.

The Forum resulted in the conclusion of a series of memorandums of cooperation between educational and scientific institutions of the participating countries, as well as new initiatives aimed at ensuring sustainable development of the Caspian region through the integration of science and education.
