Over three decades of active cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Commonwealth of Independent States, Turkmenistan has done a lot of work to strengthen multilateral ties to ensure the well-being of the brotherly peoples. This is the story of the Internet edition CentralAsia.news.
Over 150 joint events of the CIS countries took place last year. A landmark event of the year was the informal Summit in St. Petersburg, which was attended by the President of Turkmenistan. The country is an associate member of the CIS and takes an active part in the Commonwealth activities, proposes important initiatives, organizes international forums and high-level meetings.
In accordance with the Action Plan for 2025, various mass sports events and international competitions will be held in Ashgabat, which has been declared the city of new sports opportunities for the CIS.
