Turkmenistan strengthens cooperation with Iran in the Caspian Sea

National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to Iran, discussed cooperation in the Caspian Sea with the country's President. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The interlocutors emphasized the importance of interaction in the Caspian Sea for the development of bilateral trade and economic partnership between Iran and Turkmenistan. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Seyed Ebrahim Raisi stated that the current geopolitical processes in the region require intensification of efforts on joint security in the region. The sides noted the importance of the agreements reached at the 6th Caspian Summit of the Caspian littoral countries' heads.

The Caspian Sea is also of strategic importance in the economic sphere, which makes it promising to increase cooperation in this area.
