Turkmen-Uzbek demarcation group meeting held

A meeting of the Turkmen-Uzbek demarcation group was held in the city of Nukus of Uzbekistan from April 1 to 7, 2024. This was reported by the Internet publication "Vestiabad".

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the demarcation of the state border. In this regard, the preparations for the joint meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on demarcation of the state border between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were touched upon. The Protocol was signed as a result of the meeting.

The next meeting of the working group will be held in Turkmenistan. Earlier, in February of this year, the meeting was held in Turkmenabad city of Turkmenistan.

Recall that the work on formalization of the Turkmen-Uzbek border, which is 1,650 km long, began after the state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan in March 2017.
