Experts of the National Institute of Deserts and Wildlife of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan made a multi-day expedition to the Badkhyz uplands to assess the condition, fruiting and yield of nut crops. This is reported by the Internet edition "Asmannews.
The expedition takes place annually in the middle of summer. Here, specialists study two large arrays of pistachio. Many trees are located on the hills of Badkhyz, in Serkhetabat and Pulkhatyn groves. In total, pistachio forests on the territory of Turkmenistan occupy the territory of about 80 thousand hectares. All these pistachio forests are protected by the state.
Specialists also checked the condition of walnut trees in the mountainous area of Xunt-Hasardaga on the other side of the country.
