Teachers at the Yagshigeldi Kakaev International University of Oil and Gas have developed two innovative devices to improve the efficiency of drilling operations. The State Intellectual Property Service of the Ministry of Finance and Economy issued limited patents No. 956 and No. 935 for the inventions.
The main development is a hydraulic device for displacement of air from the cavities of drill pipes. The authors of the invention were Doctor of Technical Sciences Arslan Geldimuradov, Senior Lecturer Dovran Esenov, Senior Lecturer Rejepguly Gulmammedov and Lecturer Mahmut Khaidarov.
The device solves an important technical task - filling drill and casing pipes with drilling mud when running into the well and removing air accumulations from internal cavities. Practical tests of the equipment were conducted at the Galkynysh gas field with the participation of Türkmengazburawlaýyş Department specialists.
The tests were conducted at four wells of the Drilling Department "Türkmengazburawlaýyş" of the State Concern "Turkmengaz" - Nos. 261, 263, 231 and 264. The tests covered different depths: from 1600 to 4190 meters. The results confirmed that the new device effectively prevents obstacles related to pressure changes at the bottomhole.
The team's second invention is a pneumatic jet washing device for washing drilling rigs and their components. The development provides savings of working time and water resources, improves environmental safety of production and reduces operating costs.
Both devices are aimed at modernizing technological processes in the oil and gas industry and can be widely used in drilling operations in the country's oilfields.
